Attention everyone wishing to visit Georgia!
We would like to inform you that, in accordance with the Law of Georgia "On Tourism," effective January 1, 2026, all tourists entering Georgia are required to have a valid medical and accident insurance policy.
Upon entry into Georgia, every tourist must present a valid insurance policy in paper or electronic form, issued in Georgian or English.
The insurance policy can be issued by both Georgian and foreign insurance companies, and the insured amount must be at least 30,000 GEL.
The insurance policy must contain the following mandatory information:
- Parties to the insurance contract;
- Territory of insurance;
- Insured entity;
-Start and end time of the insurance period;
-Insured risks;
-Amount of the insured sum (limits);
Amount of the insurance premium, place and deadline for payment.
The insurance policy must be valid for the entire period from the tourist's entry into Georgia until their exit from the country.
The mandatory insurance requirement does not apply to:
-persons holding a diplomatic or special visa;
-persons holding a diplomatic, service, or special passport;
-accredited employees of diplomatic missions, consular offices, international organizations, and equivalent representations in Georgia, as well as accredited family members of such employees;
-persons whose entry into Georgia is permitted by international agreements or treaties of Georgia;
drivers engaged in international road freight and passenger transportation.
